Endicott at the Top of the USM Fall Classic Leaderboard after Day One

GORHAM, Maine – After day one of the University of Southern Maine Fall Classic at Gorham Country Club, the Endicott men's golf team sits in first place among nine regional teams with a team score of 299, three strokes ahead of the host Huskies.

On the 6,555-yard, par-72 course, Gulls junior captain Austin Teal (Loudonville, N.Y.) shot even par to lead the 45-man field. He shot a 39 on his front before a 33 on the back catapulted him to the top of the leaderboard.

Three other Endicott golfers finished in the top-10 on day one with freshman Ben Palazzo (Farmington, Conn.) tied for 6th with a three-over 75 and sophomore Dan Negus (Pembroke, Mass.) and freshman Drew Benshoff (Concord, Mass.) turning in a 76 on the scorecard, tied for ninth overall.

Endicott's fifth golfer, freshman Hunter Donovan (Loudonville, N.Y.) had sole possession of 35th place with an 86.  

Tee times for day two of the USM Fall Classic begin at 11:00 am.
