CCC TOURNAMENT: Endicott, Suffolk To Clash In Playoffs This Weekend (5/1-5/2)

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott baseball team (13-6, 9-3 CCC) is set to host Suffolk (11-10, 4-4) in the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Tournament Pod B Finals this weekend. Here's a preview of this weekend's best-of-three series.

Saturday will feature two games at North Field, with game one scheduled for 12 PM and game two earmarked for 3 PM.

Endicott will serve as the home team in game one, while Suffolk will play as the "home" team in game two and bat second.

If Endicott and Suffolk split on Saturday, the if-necessary game will take place on Sunday at 12 PM with Endicott featured as the home team and batting last. All games will be nine inning contests.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Endicott is 20-14 all-time against Suffolk (split 2021 series 3-3).
  • The Rams, new to the CCC this season, have won four Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) championships (2015-18) under the direction of Suffolk skipper Anthony Del Prete (seventh season).
  • Endicott enters this weekend's games slashing .296/.412/.488 (.avg/.obp/.slg) and sports an earned run average (ERA) of 4.47 (second in CCC), while Suffolk has a .292/.371/.403 slash line and a 4.67 ERA (third in CCC).
  • Rams' graduate student Christian Seariac (Framingham, Mass.) leads the CCC in batting average with a .474 clip (27 H, 5 2B, 2 3B, 1 HR, 57 AB).
  • Endicott is 10-4 at home this season, while Suffolk is even on the road this year at 5-5 overall.

WHAT'S NEXT

The winner of this weekend's best-of-three series will take on the winner of Pod A (Roger Williams/Suffolk) in the CCC Championship on May 8-9. Next weekend's championship will also follow a 9-inning, best-of-three series format with Sunday serving as the if-necessary game.
