Nardone Receives NCBWA Division III National Hitter Of The Week Honorable Mention Accolades

NCBWA RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott sophomore first baseman Jake Nardone (Wakefield, Mass.) has earned National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Division III National Hitter of the Week honorable mention accolades, as announced by the organization yesterday.

This is Nardone's third weekly honor in as many days. On Monday (4/26), Nardone was named the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Player of the Week. Meanwhile, on Tuesday (4/27), Nardone followed up his conference award with a selection to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week.

All three honors for Nardone this week are career firsts.

As for his accomplishments last week, Nardone was a force to be reckoned with in Endicott's doubleheader sweep over the Leopards last Saturday (4/24).

In game one (11-1 win), Nardone went 3-for-4 with two runs scored, three RBI, and a homer. He followed that performance up in game two (13-3 win) with a 2-for-2 day to go along with three runs scored, two homers, six RBI, and two walks.

Nardone tied the Gulls' single-game record for home runs with two, while his six RBIs rank tied for sixth all-time in a single-game as well.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (13-6) hosts Suffolk (11-10) in the CCC Tournament this Saturday at 12/3 PM. The if necessary game will be played on Sunday in Beverly, Mass. at 12 PM.
