2021 Baseball Season Preview

ROSTER | SCHEDULE

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott baseball team opens up its 2021 season at home against St. Joseph's (Me.) today. Here's a preview of the Gulls' upcoming season.

FIVE THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Endicott's roster will be led by eight senior returners including Cooper Anibal (Bedford, N.H.), Justin Bailey (Grafton, Mass.), Kyle Brennan (Wallingford, Conn.), Anthony Macchia (Ridgefield, Conn.), Matthew McKinley (Hudson, N.H.), Nikolas Perkins (Nashua, N.H.), Brennan Quigley (Braintree, Mass.), and Matthew Robida (Chester, Conn.).
  • The Gulls enter their 2021 campaign with a 594-431 overall record (.580) since the program started in 1995.
  • Endicott has qualified for postseason play for 24 straight seasons (excludes 2020).
  • This year's roster features 46 student-athletes in total (17 – Fr. | 14 – So. | 5 – Jr. | 8 – Sr. | 2 – Gr.).
  • Postseason play begins on May 1. For more information on this year's schedule and the postseason format read the notes section below.

NOTES: The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) has split up the conference into pods. Endicott will play in "Pod B" against Gordon, Suffolk, and Wentworth. Meanwhile, "Pod A" features Curry, Nichols, Roger Williams, Salve Regina, and Western New England. Weekend doubleheaders will be played in a 7-inning/9-inning game format and count towards the conference standings. If game one of the doubleheader goes into extra innings then game two will revert to a 7-inning contest. Mid-week games against league opponents and contests versus non-pod teams will not factor into the conference standings. Any additional games against opponents in Endicott's pod will not affect the conference standings. A mercy rule of 10 runs after seven frames will also be in effect for all league bouts. Additionally, the top-2 teams from each pod will qualify for playoff competition based on winning percentages. A team must complete 50% of all scheduled conference games to qualify.
