Gulls Finish Sixth in TCCC Championship

BIDDEFORD, ME - The Endicott College women's cross country team finished with a team score of 134 to take home sixth-place in The Commonwealth Coast Conference Championships on Saturday at Rotary Park in Biddeford, Maine.

Roger Williams University placed four runners in the Top 10 to cruise to the TCCC Women's Cross Country Championship. The Hawks totaled 35 points to distance themselves from the field by nearly 50 points. Gordon College was second with 84 points and Salve Regina University placed third with a score of 87.

Sophomore Emily Tran (Sharon, MA) of Roger Williams was the individual champion, completing the 6,000-meter course in a time of 24:29 to earn The Commonwealth Coast Conference Runner of the Year honors.

Gordon freshman Hannah Matthews (Castle Rock, CO) finished second, and as the initial first-year runner to cross the line garnered TCCC Rookie of the Year honors.

Rounding out the Top 5 were Western New England senior Kaylee Martin (Holmes, NY), Gordon junior Sarah Loy (Essex, MA) and Roger Williams junior Megan Fish (Vernon, CT). Endicott was led by Nicole Prokop's (Montgomery, MA/Gateway, Regional) 11th place finish.

Also earning a spot on the all-conference team were runners placing in spots six through 10. They were: freshman Lindsay Rines (Lee, NH) of New England College, junior Emily Bome (Syracuse, NY) of Roger Williams, freshman Marisa Fiore (Lexington, MA) of Salve Regina University, sophomore Susan Thaxter (Pepperell, MA) of Roger Williams, and junior Jackie Beers (Litchfield, CT) of Western New England.

Sean Livingston of Roger Williams was voted TCCC Coach of the Year, and the Team Sportsmanship Award went to Gordon. Eastern Nazarene College Kate McNally (Georgetown, MA) was selected Senior Scholar-Athlete of the Year.
