SPRINGFIELD, MA - Kelsey Conn (Batavia, NY/Elba) took home The Commonwealth Coast Conference weekly honors for the third time this season when she was named TCCC Rookie of the Week on Monday.
Conn paced the Gulls to a first place finish at the Gordon College Invitational covering the 5,000 meter course in 19:50 and grabbing fourth place en route to a second Rookie of the Week award. The freshman harrier was one of just five runners to dip under the 20 minute mark in the 61-runner field.
The Blue and Green look to carry their success into Saturday's TCCC Championship Meet in Biddeford, ME and challenge for a conference title. The Gulls finished fifth at last years TCCC Championship but impressive performances from Conn and her teammates have put the Gulls in the mix for top honors. The Commonwealth Conference Championship Meet begins at noon on Saturday October 27th at the University of New England.
