Endicott Sweeps CCC Women’s Track & Field Weekly Awards

CCC WEEKLY AWARDS RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – For the first time in program history, the Endicott women's track and field program has swept the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) weekly awards. It was announced by the league office earlier today.

Jenna Raffael (North Reading, Mass.) was named the CCC Track Athlete of the Week, while Nicole D'Angelo (Readfield, Maine) claimed CCC Field Athlete of the Week honors.

Teammates Gabrielle Morton (Peabody, Mass.) and Giana Nekitopoulos (West Springfield, Mass.) also earned Track Rookie and Field Rookie of the Week accolades, respectively.

Meanwhile, the quartet of Jamie Budge (Old Tappan, N.J.), Morton, D'Angelo, and Danielle Boucher (Hampton, N.H.) received CCC Relay Team of the Week honors to round out the list of award winners for the Gulls.


JENNA RAFFAEL | TRACK ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

Raffael won the 100-meter hurdles at the Regis Spring Classic last week as Endicott took first place overall. It was the first time in program history that the Gulls won a meet. Raffael finished with a time of 16.36 and was the only student-athlete at the meet to break 17 seconds.

NICOLE D'ANGELO | FIELD ATHLETE OF THE WEEK

D'Angelo helped Endicott capture its first-ever team victory at the Regis Spring Classic last week. D'Angelo contributed wins in both the pole vault and shot put, setting school records in the process. In the pole vault, D'Angelo cleared 2.81 meters (9'2.5"), while tossing the shot put 11.59 meters (38'0.25"). Her toss qualified her for the NCAA Regional.

GABRIELLE MORTON | TRACK ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Morton ran the third leg of Endicott's 4x100 meter relay and finished fourth in the 200-meter dash as the Gulls captured their first team title in program history. Morton and her relay teammates placed second at the Regis Spring Classic with a school-record time of 53.56. Morton also ran the 200 in 28.62 and ranked sixth overall.

GIANA NEKITOPOULOS | FIELD ROOKIE OF THE WEEK

Nekitopoulos had top-three finishes in both the long jump and triple jump at the Regis Spring Classic, setting school records in the process. She placed third in the long jump with a distance of 4.50 meters (14'9.25") and finished second in the triple jump with a distance of 10.04 meters (32'11.25"). The results helped the Gulls capture their first team win at a meet in program history.

RELAY TEAM OF THE WEEK 

Budge, Morton, D'Angelo, and Boucher made up the Endicott 4x100 meter relay team that finished second overall at the Regis Spring Classic. The group set a school record with a time of 53.56 and helped Endicott capture its first team title since the program's inception last year.

Endicott will compete at the Penmen Relays, hosted by Southern New Hampshire University, on Saturday, April 13 at 10 AM.
