Paxton, Mass. – The Endicott women’s tennis team continued their recent stretch of success with a 9-0 shutout of The Commonwealth Coast Conference (TCCC) opponent Anna Maria College on Saturday afternoon. The Gulls run their win-streak to four matches and now stand at 6-3 (6-1 TCCC).
The Blue and Green saw three of their players win in singles play in convincing, straight set fashion as \#Kate Cioffi\# (Essex, Vt.), \#Melanie Weinick\# (Colchester, Conn.) and \#Rachel Fenstermaker\# (Somerset, Mass.) took down their opponents in the one, three, and six singles matches, respectively.
\#Laura MacLeod\# (Mashpee, Mass.) won the number two singles match by the score of 6-4, 6-2, \#Gina Pinciaro\# (Beverly, Mass.) won 6-1, 6-1 at the number four slot and \#Ashley Sullivan\# (Concord, N.H.) wrapped up the singles sweep with a 6-2, 6-4 win at the number five singles position.
In doubles play, Cioffi and \#Emily Annis\# (Hampton, N.H.) were near perfect at number one doubles by winning 8-1. At the number two doubles, \#Kristen DiFillippo\# (Lynnfield, Mass.) and Pinciaro edged their opponents 8-5 and \#Kerry Dunn\# (Middleton, Mass.) and MacLeod won 8-2 at number three doubles.
The Gulls look to continue their winning ways against non-conference foe Rhode Island College on September 28 at 3:30 pm at home.
