Beverly, MA - The Endicott Gulls traveled to Roger Williams University today in conference action, and came up with a 14-2 victory over the home team Hawks. Endicott junior Cathy Sharp (Rutland, VT) had six goals and one assist in the win.
The Gulls outshot the Hawks 33-13, with six different players finding the back of the net. Sharp led all scorers with seven points, Lindsey O'Connell (So/Mansfield, MA) had three goals and one assist, senior captain Jessica Blair (Middlebury, VT) notched two goals and one assist, Susie Neikirk (Jr/Scotia, NY) picked up one goal and one assist, while freshman Alison McCoy (Andover, MA) and senior captain Emily McCarthy (Portland, ME) each had one goal.
Gulls defenders held the Hawks to two goals, both in first half play. The Hawks scored first with the Gulls advantage just 5-2 at the half before opening up the scoring and a 9-0 run to end the conference match 14-2.
Erin Curry (So/East Hampstead, NH) was solid between the pipes, making eleven saves for the undefeated Gulls.
The Gulls return to their home field Saturday, March 26, to face non-conference opponent the University of Southern Maine. Today's win improves the Gulls the 3-0 overall, 1-0 in conference.
