Parr nets game winner to lead Gulls to victory

Samantha Parr scored with 6:08 to play in the third period to lead the Gulls to a win over SSU in the season's final game. It was Parr's second goal of the game.

The Gulls spotted the Vikings a 3-0 first period lead. They fought back with inspired skating to tie the game in the second period on goals by Katie Joly, Vanessa Carruccio and Parr. Assists went to Kat Walsh, Addie Weeks and Joly Riley O'Neil, in goal, shut the door on the Vikings.

In the third period both teams put pressure on the goalies. Freshman goalie,Taylor Witham, took over between the pipes for O'Neil and made several outstanding saves for the Gulls. A quick glove save off the stick of the Vikings' Janelle Surette with 8 minutes to play kept the game tied and set the stage for Parr's heroics.

The game clincher was set up by Addie Weeks who skated the puck deep into the zone from her position at the point. She fed the puck in front of Viking Goalie, Brook Pinkham. Parr was on the doorstep to knock it in the goal for the eventual winner.

The Gulls were led by Seniors Katie Joly, Kat Walsh and Hannah Morton. The trio played their final game as Gulls.

In it's first season of play as an independent Women's Club Hockey Program, The Gulls finished with a record of 5-4-2 The wins came against Smith College, Harvard, Babson, Hockeytown All-Stars, and arch rival Salem State.
