Strong Second Half Lifts Gordon Past Endicott, 63-55

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's basketball team fell to Gordon College, 63-55, on Wednesday night at MacDonald Gymnasium.

Trailing 24-18 at halftime, Gordon outscored the Gulls 23-12 in the third quarter and never relinquished the lead the rest of the way.

Endicott came within one point (45-44) with 5:50 to play in the fourth quarter, but the Fighting Scots responded with a 9-3 run over the next 2:22 of action to lock up the victory.

Offensively, Shannon Gilbert (Easton, Conn.) led all scorers (tied) in the contest with 17 points, while Emily St. Thomas (Sterling, Mass.) and Lexi Gellerman (West Hartford, Conn.) chipped in with 13 and 12 points, respectively.

Morgan Bresnahan (Wilmington, Mass.) also added nine points, 10 rebounds, and a block in the loss.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Gellerman fell one rebound shy of notching her first career double-double.
  • Despite the setback, Endicott still leads the all-time series versus Gordon, 28-13.
  • Tonight's game only featured three ties and two lead changes but both teams were fairly even in terms of time led in the matchup (Gordon led for 17:09 | Endicott 16:00 | Game Tied 6:51).

Endicott (3-4) completes its 2020-21 abbreviated season against Gordon (6-5) on the road tomorrow at 7 PM.
