Gulls Fall, 68-57, To Suffolk

DARTMOUTH, Mass. – The Endicott women's basketball team faced Suffolk on Saturday evening at the UMass Dartmouth LaFrance Hospitality Classic. The Gulls were handed a 68-57 loss.

Endicott jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the first two minutes of play, but the Rams hit three three-pointers in response to gain the 9-4 advantage. By the end of the first 10 minutes, Suffolk held a slight 16-15 lead.

Both teams continue to battle during the second quarter which saw five lead changes and three ties. Ultimately, the Gulls went into halftime holding a 34-33 advantage over the Rams.

The third quarter was much like the first two with many lead changes and ties, but in the fourth frame, the Rams gained the upper hand and never looked back as they went on to secure a 68-57 victory.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Emily Pratt (Gardner, Mass.) led the Gulls with 12 points, eight rebounds, three blocks, and three steals.
  • Kaleigh Putnam (Wallingford, Conn.) added eight rebounds and dished out a team-high seven assists.
  • Leading the Rams offensively were Jenni-Rose DiCecco (Falmouth, Mass.), Alexis Hackett (Charlton, Mass.), and Gabriella DeComo (Portsmouth, R.I.) with 14 points each.
  • Hackett also pulled down a team-leading 15 rebounds.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (0-2) faces Coast Guard at UMass Dartmouth for the consolation round of the LaFrance Hospitality Classic tomorrow, Nov. 18 at 12 PM. Suffolk (3-1) will take on UMass Dartmouth at 2 PM during the championship game of the LaFrance Hospitality Classic tomorrow as well.
