BEVERLY, Mass. — The fourth-seeded Endicott softball team will travel down to Newport, R.I. where the Gulls will take on No. 8 Gordon on Saturday, April 29 at 1:00 p.m. in Game 3 of the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Double-Elimination Tournament.

THE MATCHUP: The Gulls (20-14, 11-7 CCC) defeated the Gordon Fighting Scots in the regular-season series, 8-4 and 6-1, on April 13th in Beverly, Mass. 

POSTSEASON HISTORY: The Gulls have qualified for the conference tournament every season in the 24th years since Endicott became NCAA Division III varsity program in 1993-94. Endicott is in the hunt for its 11th CCC title and 15th banner overall (13 conference titles, one ECAC championship) under 23-year head coach Mark Veilleux in his final season at the helm. The Gulls won nine straight conference crowns from 2003-2011 and added a 10th in 2014 when this year's senior class were freshmen.

NO. 4 ENDICOTT (20-14, 11-7 CCC) | STATISTICS | SCHEDULE | ROSTER

The Gulls posted a 20-win season for the 18th time in program history. To highlight the season, Coach Veilleux earned his 600th career victory over Amherst College with a 6-5 walk-off victory on Sunday, March 12th in Leesburg, Fla. during the annual Spring Break trip. Additionally, the Gulls have celebrated five walk-off victories this season. Endicott is led by All-CCC First Team sophomore outfielder Olivia Odermatt (Cheshire, Conn.), three All-CCC Second Teamers in freshman pitcher Michaela Hamill (Lynn, Mass.), junior catcher Emily Sharpe (South Glens Falls, N.Y.), and senior outfielder Julia McNeill (Smithtown, N.Y.). Rounding out the list of honorees, sophomore outfielder Hayley Arduini (Southington, Conn.) was named to the All-CCC Third Team.

NO. 8 GORDON (15-20, 7-11 CCC) | STATISTICS | SCHEDULE | ROSTER

The Fighting Scots defeated the fifth-seeded University of New England, 2-0, on Friday, April 28th in the CCC play-in game to advance to the next round. Gordon is led by its lone All-Conference representative in All-CCC First Team third baseman Megan Jenkerson (McDonough, Ga.). Jenkerson led the conference in home runs with 10, three better than the second-best player, which also ranks her top 10 in the nation in Division III. The sophomore batted .439 for the year, for the second-highest batting average in the conference and she finished near the top in runs batted in with 32, ranking third overall.

WHAT'S AT STAKE: The CCC Tournament Champion will receive the conference's automatic qualifier into the NCAA DIII Softball Championship.
