Coach Kulakowski and KK Palmerino share a word on the bases.

BRISTOL, R.I. — The Endicott softball team earned a Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) doubleheader split against the host Roger Williams University Sunday afternoon at Paolino Field on the Hawk's Senior Day.

GAME ONE: ENDICOTT 5, ROGER WILLIAMS 4

Trailing 2-1 heading into the top of the fifth inning, Endicott rallied for three runs to take a 4-2 advantage on back-to-back run-producing doubles from sophomore center fielder Olivia Odermatt (Cheshire, Conn.) and sophomore first baseman Jamie Hopgood (Warwick, R.I.) to drive in one and two runs, respectively.

The Gulls added an insurance run in the final frame and held off a late comeback effort from the Hawks to win their 11th straight game.

Freshman pitcher Michaela Hamill (Lynn, Mass.) improved to 7-1 in the circle as she allowed four runs (three earned) on 11 hits, walked one, and struck out one in her sixth complete-game effort of the season.

GAME TWO: ROGER WILLIAMS 7, ENDICOTT 6

Sophomore starter Laura Somerville (Suffield, Conn.) earned a no-decision as she went 5 1/3 nnings and surrendered six runs on nine hits, four walks, and two punchouts before giving the ball to junior Mikaela Mallozzi (Shelton, Conn.) who was charged with the loss (2-2) in 1 1/3 innings of work

The Gulls' 6-2 lead late into the sixth inning didn't hold as a four-run frame from the Hawks knotted the score.

Then, with two outs in the bottom of the seventh, Roger Williams walked off with the runners on the corners when an infield error allowed freshman Taylor Chatowsky (North Kingstown, R.I.) to score the winning run.
