2015 Endicott Softball Schedule
BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott softball team has unveiled their 2015 schedule which features doubleheaders with three non-league opponents that won their respective conference tournaments last spring including the defending NCAA champions, a return trip to the Dot Richardson NCSI Classic in Florida, and the usual gauntlet of CCC challengers as the Gulls look to repeat as conference champions.
From March 15th-20th, Endicott will be down at the Dot Richardson NCSI Classic in Clermont, Florida to start their 2015 campaign. Official opponents, dates, and times are yet to be announced but as in year's past, the Gulls will take on a talented crop of regional and non-regional programs to prepare for what the team expects to be another postseason run towards championship glory.
When Endicott returns from Florida, their first eight games will be against CCC opponents starting with Wentworth (6-28, 0-18) on the road March 28th followed by a home doubleheader against Curry (25-17, 12-6) the following day. On Wednesday, April 1st, the Blue and Green host North Shore rival Gordon (12-21, 6-12) before traveling to Roger Williams (20-17, 11-7) two days later.
A home doubleheader with NEWMAC power Babson (17-21), who is just one season removed from a 34-win season in 2013, will be held on Tuesday, April 7th before Endicott visits last spring's NEWMAC winner Wellesley (29-11) on April 8th. A road doubleheader with MASCAC and North Shore foe Salem State on Thursday, April 9th caps off a stretch of six non-conference games in three days for the Blue and Green.
On Saturday, April 11th, a rematch of the 2014 CCC Championship between Endicott and Western New England (23-18, 11-7) will take place in Beverly. The Gulls hit the road on Sunday to take on conference opponents Nichols (12-21, 7-11) for two games in Dudley.
In a mid-week doubleheader at Endicott Stadium, the Gulls host the six-time champions of the NECC Lesley (21-15) on Wednesday, April 15th before returning to their CCC schedule with six games against Eastern Nazarene (7-21, 3-15), University of New England (23-17, 12-6), and Salve Regina (22-19, 14-4). The Gulls travel to Eastern Nazarene on Saturday, April 18th and host both University of New England (April 19th) and Salve Regina (April 21st).
Endicott's final regular season doubleheader before CCC Tournament action begins is against the two-time defending NCAA Division III champions Tufts (47-4) on Wednesday, April 22nd in Medford. The Jumbos cruised through the NESCAC Tournament and NCAA Regional play, ending Endicott's season in the regional final, and won their first three NCAA World Series games before suffering a loss to Salisbury in the double elimination bracket. Tufts rebounded by beating Salisbury twice in-a-row to capture the 2014 national title.
The 2015 CCC double elimination tournament begins play on Saturday, April 25th. A conference championship and winner of the league's automatic qualifier into the NCAA Tournament will be decided on Saturday, May 2nd. Regional play runs from May 8th-10th, super regionals are on May 15th-16th, and the NCAA World Series will be held in Salem, Virginia from May 21st-26th.
