CCC Athletes of the Week Release
SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) announced their weekly awards and senior tri-captain, Nell O'Connor (Harwich, Mass.) was awarded her second Pitcher of the Week honor this season for her 3-0 week in the circle. The Blue and Green went an impressive 6-2 record on the week to improve to 12-4 (5-1 CCC) overall.
With the three wins O'Connor bounced up to a 6-0 record pitching for the Gulls this season. The senior recorded 17 strikeouts on the week while posting a .78 ERA. O'Connor was most impressive against Nichols and Western New England this past week. In the close 2-1 triumph over WNE O'Connor hurled two 1-2-3 innings while striking out four on 30 batters faced. In the 8-0 victory over Nichols the senior pitched four 1-2-3 innings, three being consecutive to secure the win. In addition, against the Bison her pitch count was a remarkable one with 56 strikes on 77 pitches.
Last season O'Connor was named the CCC Pitcher of the Year and with her efforts thus far this season, she is making way to defend her title.
Endicott will play next on Tuesday, April 8th as they travel across the bridge to compete against North Shore rival Salem State for a non-conference matchup double header at 3/5 PM.
