Gulls race to finish at KSC Invitational
KEENE, N.H. - The Endicott College men’s and women’s cross country teams participated in the 15th-Annual Keene State College Invitational Cross Country meet held on Saturday afternoon in Keene, N.H. The women’s team finished ninth overall while the men’s team had an 11th place finish.

For the women, the Gulls were paced by \#Kim Shepherd\# (Essex, Conn.) who finished 56th out of the 143-runner field with a time of 21:06. \#Holly Davis\# (Guilford, Conn.) was the next Gull to cross the finish line as the freshman finished with a time of 21:31, good for a 69th place showing. \#Brittaney Plante\# (Nashua, N.H.) and \#Megan McGraw\# (Georgia, Vt.) also ran hard for the Gulls with times of 21:57 and 22:41, respectively.

Amherst won the women’s race with 25 points. Keene State finished second while MIT rounded out the top three with 90 points. Amherst’s Sophia Galleher took home the first place finish with a time of 18:40 while Springfield’s Amanda DiPaolo and UMass-Lowell’s Lyra Clark finished second and third with times of 18:59 and 19:00.

On the men’s side, \#Greg Payne\# (North Attleboro, Mass.) led the way for Endicott with his time of 28:06, which earned him a 69th place finish out of 144 runners. \#Brendan Mitchell\# (Chelmsford, Mass.) finished the five-mile race in 31:16 while \#Sam Turner\# (Portland, Maine) clocked in with a time of 31:50, good for a 123rd place finish.

Keene State walked away with the team win while Dartmouth and Amherst finished out the top three separated by only four points. Amherst’s Daniel Murner took home the individual crown with a time of 25:05 with the University of Southern Maine’s Alex Gomes finishing second at 25:54. Keene State’s Jeff Trethewey rounded out the top three with a time of 26:08.

Endicott returns to the trails on Saturday, October 10th when they travel to Franklin Park in Boston, Mass. for the New England Intercollegiate Amateur Athletic Association Championships. The women take off at 12:45 p.m. while the men head out at 1:30 p.m.
