NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. - On Saturday, the Endicott College men’s and women’s cross country teams traveled to North Dartmouth, Mass. for the UMass-Dartmouth Shriners Cross Country Invitational. The Gulls were paced on the beautiful afternoon by sophomore \#Greg Payne\# (North Attleboro, Mass.) and \#Kim Shepherd\# (Essex, Conn.) who ran amongst fields of 262 and 301 runners, respectively.

For the women, Shepherd finished 110 out of the 301 runner field with a time of 20:35. Also running well for the Gulls was sophomore \#Brittaney Plante\# (Nashua, N.H.) who ran a 6:52 mile pace and finished 156th with a time of 21:20. \#Megan McGraw\# (Georgia, Vt.) and \#Kelly Cameron\# (Barrington, R.I.) also had strong days as the duo finished at 21:54 and 22:03, respectively.

Overall, Endicott finished 33rd out of the 42 team field. MIT took home the event while Brandeis and Keene State finished in second and third. MIT’s Jacqui Wentz won the 5k race with a time of 17:40 while Rowan’s Jen Rawls (17:59) and Springfield’s Amanda DiPaolo (18:03) rounded out the top three.

On the men’s side, the Gulls were led by \#Greg Payne\# who finished 93rd overall out of 262 participants. Payne ran a 5:24 mile while finishing the five mile race in 27:00 flat. \#Brendan Mitchell\# (Chelmsford, Mass.) finished 209th with a time of 30:07 while \#Sam Turner\# (Portland, Maine) and \#Tom Rofrano\# (Sayville, N.Y.) also had strong days with times of 30:40 and 31:56, respectively.

Endicott placed 34th out of 37 teams with an average time of 30:25. Keene State took home the win overall while Stonehill College and Southern Maine University finished out the top three. American International’s Rop Glarius finished first overall in the meet with a time of 24:05. Tyler Jasud from Southern New Hampshire placed second with a time of 24:40 and Brandeis’ Paul Norton rounded out the top three only three seconds behind Jasud at 24:43.

The Blue and Green return to the trails on October 3 when the Gulls travel to Keene, N.H. for the Keene State Invitational. The men take off at 11:30 a.m. while the women get started at 11:00 a.m.
