SPRINGFIELD, Mass. - Endicott College freshman Greg Payne (North Attleboro, Mass.) was named TCCC Rookie of the Week this week as announced by TCCC Commissioner Gregg M. Kaye on Monday. Payne led the Gulls with his tenth place finish in the Gordon Invitational on Saturday.
The freshman led the Gulls to a third place finish out of six teams. Payne ran the 8k race in 29:05 and finished tenth overall in the 45 runner field. This marks the eighth time Payne has been awarded with a weekly award including his fifth Rookie of the Week honor.
The Blue and Green return to the trails on Saturday when it travels to the campus of Western New England for the TCCC Championships. Payne looks to lead the Gulls to victory when they take off at 1:00 p.m.
