No. 8 Men’s Volleyball Tops Nichols, 3-1

DUDLEY, Mass. – The No. 8 nationally ranked Endicott men's volleyball team defeated Nichols College, 3-1, by scores of 25-19, 25-17, 23-25, and 25-13 in conference action on Friday evening.

Bryn Lipton (Rockford, Ill.) highlighted Endicott's efforts with 17 kills (.444), two service aces, seven digs,  and one block assist.

The Gulls also saw Gabe Felicetti (Charlestown, R.I.) notch 11 kills on 13 swings (.769), while Rafa Robert (San Juan, Puerto Rico) and Mason Mallory (Playa del Ray, Calif.) compiled six kills apiece.

Gabe DeBenedetto (Rockford, Ill.) ran a majority of the offense, which hit .384 for the match, via a match-high 23 assists (.667). Freshmen Gavin Emenaker (Newton, Mass.) and Aidan Napoli (Henderson, Nev.) also dished out 10 (.556) and 13 (.500) assists, respectively.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott is 4-0 all-time against Nichols.
  • The Gulls are 9-1 in their last 10 matches against conference opponents (including playoffs).
  • Lipton registered at least three kills in every set (5 each in set 1 and set 4).
  • Justin Kegebein (Liverpool, N.Y.) and Lipton went 41-for-41 combined on serve-receive (Kegebin 18-18 | Lipton 23-23).
  • Meanwhile, 21 of their receptions led to kills (Kegebein 9-18 | Lipton 12-23).
  • Thirteen student-athletes tallied at least one kill in the win.

No. 8 Endicott (1-2, 1-0 NECC) hosts Nichols (0-3, 0-3 NECC) tomorrow at 5 PM.
