Bates Tops Men’s Tennis, 9-0

LEWISTON, MAINE — The Endicott men's tennis team fell at Bates, 9-0, on Tuesday afternoon in a non-conference tilt at the Wallach Tennis Center.

The Bobcats took all three doubles flights before singles action.

No. 3 George Danes (Old Lyme, Conn.) and Aaron Terpko (Shrewsbury, Mass.) battled to an 8-6 setback. 

In singles, the Gulls' top individual Conrad Kadel (Heidelberg, Germany) fell in a highly competitive 2-6, 7(8)-6(6), 12-14 match, while Danes lost in a close 3-6, 5-7 contest at No. 3.

"We got our teeth into a lot of matches. The wind provided a good challenge and days like today offer a lot to build on," said Endicott men's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • The Bobcats advanced to 3-1 at home.
  • The Gulls went 14-4 (.778) in CCC doubles flights this season.

Endicott (9-8, 5-2 CCC) is the No. 3 seed in the upcoming CCC Men's Tennis Tournament. The Blue and Green will host an opening-round matchup against No. 6 Western New England on Saturday, April 27 at 1 PM. Bates (3-11, 0-7 NESCAC) hosts #6 Bowdoin on Thursday, April 25 at 3:00 PM.
