Wentworth Edges Men's Tennis, 5-4

BRIGHTON, Mass. — The Endicott men's tennis team fell to Wentworth, 5-4, Thursday afternoon at Daly Field. 

In doubles, the Gulls jumped out to a 2-1 lead as Brennan Nick (Tolland, Conn.) and Daniel Rinkert (Ben Lomond, Calif.) earned an 8-2 win at No. 1, and Julian Richtarich (Westport, Conn.) and Collin Dinardo (Westport, Mass.) picked up an 8-4 victory at No. 2.

In singles, Elijah Harris (Haverhill, Mass.) cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 win at No. 5, and Nick won 6-2, 6-2 at No. 1.  

Then, after dropping No. 3, 4, and 6 singles, the match came down to No. 2, where Rinkert dropped a hard-fought match, 6-3, 5-7, 6-7(4)

"We played hard and everyone did a lot of positive things on court today," said Endicott men's tennis head coach Anthony D'Angelo. "We will look to continue building off of this, but credit to Wentworth, they earned it today."

Endicott (2-3) will host Wentworth (3-1) on Saturday, April 10 for a conference matchup starting at 1 PM.
