BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott club men's rugby team came out victorious on Senior Day in their first post-season competition of the year last Saturday against Wheaton College, 60-15.

This past Saturday, the Gulls celebrated the outstanding careers of five senior student-athletes prior to taking the field, which included: John Clavin (North Providence, R.I.), Andrew DeHaven (Hollis, N.H.), Matt Doyle (Hingham, Mass.), Ryan McKenna (New Canaan, Conn.), and Connor Moulton (Falmouth, Mass.), all of which played pivotal roles on last season's Divison II Plate CCRC 7's National Championship team. Although the season extends for another weekend, it goes without question Head Coach Dave Kenkel will certainly miss each senior's leadership and high-level character whenever representing the men's rugby program.

Moving forward to the match, the game remained pretty close until Endicott opened up the lead late in the first half. Various student-athletes contributed to the large marginal victory, however, grad students Nick Rowe (Avon, Conn.) and Marc Lerebours (Norwalk, Conn.) were named "Men of the Match" for their overall determination and combined skillsets encompassing physicality, agility, and speed.

"The team really flowed well and finessed," said Assistant Coach Pat Cormier. "We need to have a great week of practice to build for round two and keep rolling."
