Men’s Rugby Competes At Armory 7’s

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott club men's rugby team posted a 1-3 overall record at the Armory 7's against top-tier Division I programs on Sunday evening.

Endicott opened the day with a 24-7 victory over New England College, which is a varsity scholarship program, before falling to Iona (19-14), UNH (22-19), and UConn (26-22), all in tightly contested, physical matches.

Jesse Adelberg (Old Greenwich, Conn.) led the way for the Gulls with several tries over the four matches.

TOP QUOTE

"Despite the injuries we sustained due to the physicality of today's matches, the team got a chance to compete at a high level," said Endicott club men's rugby head coach Dave Kenkel. "It was a big challenge for the program to play against those top-tier teams but we proved to ourselves and everyone else that Endicott belongs at the same level as those programs."
