  • John Ortolani ’08 Earns First MLL All-Star Team Selection
    June 10, 2014
    BOSTON, Mass. – Former Endicott men’s lacrosse face-off specialist John Ortolani ’08 (Billerica, Mass.) was named to the Major League Lacrosse (MLL) All-Star Team which will compete against Team USA in the MLL All-Star Game on Thursday, June 26th at 7:30 p.m. at historic Harvard Stadium in Cambridge. Ortolani, a two-time All-CCC and All-New England selection in his three years at Endicott, is in his sixth season in the MLL and is the current face-off man for the Rochester Rattlers. This is his first MLL All-Star selection.
  • Rookie of the Year Colin Bannon Leads Five Gulls on ECAC New England Teams

    CENTERVILLE, Mass. – Freshman attacker Colin Bannon (Westport, Conn.) headlined a group of Endicott men’s lacrosse players that were placed on the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England All-Star Team with Rookie of the Year and First Team honors as five Gulls were recognized with regional accolades. Bannon became the first player in Endicott history to be named ECAC New England Rookie of the Year while the five honorees are the most the program has seen in any previous season.
  • Peter Erickson to Represent Endicott at NEILA East-West Senior All Star Game

    NEWTON, Mass. – Endicott’s graduate student midfielder and the CCC’s Short-Stick Specialist of the Year Peter Erickson (Yarmouth, Maine) will compete at the 2014 NEILA East-West Senior All Star Game as the lone representative from the Gulls men’s lacrosse program. The game will be held on Friday, May 30th at Springfield College with two 25-man teams competing from across all divisions of New England lacrosse.

    PERRY, N.Y. – For the second straight season, the Endicott men’s lacrosse team had three of their standout student-athletes placed on the USILA Division III All-American Team as Third Team midfielder Harrison Cotter (Lordship, Conn.) and Honorable Mention goalie Cameron Bell (Falmouth, Maine) and defenseman Breck Merritt (Weston, Mass.) received the national recognition.

    HAMDEN, Conn. – Seventeenth-year head coach Sean Quirk and freshman attacker Colin Bannon (Westport, Conn.) along with five total members of his Gulls men’s lacrosse team (15-5) were recognized by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) All-New England honors after the team earned their first ever at-large bid into the NCAA Division III Tournament came just shy of reaching the national quarterfinals.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – Two members of the Endicott men’s lacrosse have been recognized by the New England Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association (NEILA) for their academic prowess as graduate student midfielder and captain Peter Erickson (Yarmouth, Maine) and senior defenseman Breck Merritt (Weston, Mass.) were named to the NEILA All-Academic Team.

    MEDFORD, Mass. – In the NCAA Division III Men’s Lacrosse Tournament #16 Endicott came up short at #6 Tufts, falling 10-9 on the road, to end their national championship run in the second round. Playing the Jumbos for the second time this season, the Gulls controlled the tempo of Saturday’s game and limited the nation’s second-highest scoring offense (18.94 goals per game) thanks to offensive ball possession and strong play between the pipes by sophomore goalie Cameron Bell (Falmouth, Maine).

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott men’s lacrosse team is on to the Second Round of the NCAA Division III Tournament for the fourth time in program history after the Gulls defeated Keene State 13-10 on Wednesday night in their opening round match up 13-10 at Endicott Stadium. The Blue and Green move on to face NESCAC rival Tufts on Saturday at the Jumbos’ Bello Field at a time to be announced on Thursday morning.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The third quarter in Saturday’s Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) Men’s Lacrosse Championship saw Western New England outscore Endicott 8-1 during the 15 minute span. That stretch turned a two-goal halftime lead for the Gulls into a 12-7 advantage for the Golden Bears as Western New England went on to win their 2014 CCC title 13-8 at Endicott Stadium.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The top seed in the CCC Tournament and the 11th-ranked team in the country, Endicott men’s lacrosse, will play on Saturday, May 3rd in search of their eighth conference championship in program history after defeating Salve Regina 25-5 in the CCC Semifinals at Endicott Stadium on Wednesday evening. The Gulls tied their program record with 22 caused turnovers and benefited from 14 goal scorers finding the back of net to reach their 11th CCC Championship game since the 2001 season.

The Gulls set a program record with 13 All-CCC winners under 17th-year head coach and CCC Coach of the Year Sean Quirk and his staff.

    MILTON, Mass. – For the seventh time in program history and the first since 2008, the Endicott men’s lacrosse team lasted through the regular season without suffering a conference loss as the Gulls routed CCC opponent Curry 24-2 to improve to 13-3 overall and 8-0 in league play. Having already secured the top spot in the CCC Tournament, the Gulls await their semifinal opponent as they have earned a bye through the first round of the playoffs.

    BALTIMORE, Md. – Junior midfielder Harrison Cotter (Lordship, Conn.) was named Lacrosse Magazine Division III Player of the Week as Cotter twice set career-highs in important victories over CCC rival Western New England and NESCAC foe Bowdoin on Senior Day. In both games, Cotter scored seven goals, a new career, and against the Polar Bears added an assist to set a new personal-best with eight points in a single game.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – On Senior Day, the #15 Endicott men’s lacrosse team took down Bowdoin 18-10 on Saturday afternoon in Endicott Stadium as the Gulls have now won eight of their last nine games while wrapping up their regular season record against the NESCAC with a 3-2 record. Endicott is now 12-3 (7-0 CCC) and will play their final regular season game of the season on Wednesday, April 23rd at Curry in CCC action.

    BEVERLY, Mass. – The #15 Endicott men’s lacrosse recorded their largest margin of victory in a win over Western New England (+14) as their 20-6 victory over the Golden Bears helped the Gulls secure the top seed in the CCC Tournament which will take place between April 6th-May 3rd. Several players established career-highs including freshman attacker Colin Bannon (Westport, Conn.) with nine points and junior midfielder Harrison Cotter (Lordship, Conn.) who scored seven goals to lead Endicott’s offensive outburst.

The Gulls went 1-1 over the past week, dropping an 18-13 decision to #9 Tufts on the road before taking care of Salve Regina 14-8 to maintain the team’s standing atop the CCC leaderboard at 10-3 (6-0 CCC).

    MIDDLETOWN, R.I. – The #15 Endicott men’s lacrosse team jumped out to an 8-0 lead en route to a 14-8 victory over CCC opponent Salve Regina on Saturday evening as the Gulls improved to 10-3 overall and 6-0 in conference play. The Blue and Green were led by four points from both junior attacker Nick Pinciaro (Beverly, Mass.) and freshman attacker Colin Bannon (Westport, Conn.) as well as 19 face-off wins and 14 ground balls from freshman Tommy Hughes (Coram, N.Y.).

    MEDFORD, Mass. – The #15 Endicott men’s lacrosse team trailed #9 Tufts 14-7 heading into the fourth quarter at Bello Field on Tuesday evening and mounted a comeback, using a four-goal streak to pull within three at 16-13 with 6:01 remaining in regulation, but the Jumbos scored two additional insurance goals late in the period to secure an 18-13 victory over the Gulls.

The Gulls (9-2, 5-0 CCC) recorded two victories over conference opponents last week by a large margin but did not make up any ground in either poll.
