Men’s Basketball Rallies Past Salve Regina, 76-63

NEWPORT, R.I. — Trailing 62-61 with 3:54 remaining in the contest, the Endicott men's basketball used a 15-1 run to claim an eventual 76-63 victory over Salve Regina University on Wednesday night.

Joe Shehadi (Dorset, Vt.) contributed eight points, while Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) had four and Jordan Pettway (Bridgeport, Conn.) notched three. 

Pettway ignited the Gulls' offensive spurt with a layup at 3:07 and a free throw at 2:48 (64-62) before Shehadi canned a trey at 2:06 (67-62) and Brown swished two more free throws moments later to bury the Seahawks with an 8-0 run.

Salve Regina went 1-of-2 at the free throw line at the 1:56 mark, but after that, it was all Endicott as the Gulls saw Shehadi and Brown combine to make seven free downs the stretch and seal the victory.

Brown finished with a game-high 23 points (4-11 FG, 2-7 3PT, 13-15 FT), while Shehadi registered 15 points. The Gulls also received eight points each via Vinny Clifford (Danvers, Mass.) and Nick Thibeault (Gorham, Maine) and seven total from Pettway.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Endicott improved to 6-3 on the road this season with tonight's win.
  • The Gulls are 24-15 all-time against Salve Regina.
  • Brown's 13 made free throws tonight ranks fourth all-time (tied) in program history.

Endicott (14-6, 7-4 CCC) hosts Wentworth on Saturday, February 2 at 3 PM. Salve Regina (7-14, 3-9 CCC) welcomes the University of New England this Saturday at 3 PM.
