Men’s Basketball Drops League Matchup To Western New England, 104-76

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott men's basketball team fell to Western New England University, 104-76, on Wednesday night at the Alumni Healthful Living Center.

Leading 51-46 at the break, Western New England shot a blistering 61.8% (21-34) in the second half to run away with the league victory over the Gulls. 

The Golden Bears' torrid pace in the second half mirrored much of the game as the hosts finished with a 57.6 field goal percentage (38-66). That figure marks Western New England's third-highest output in a game this season (3-0 when shooting over 55.%). 

Meanwhile, for Endicott, Keith Brown (Pelham, N.H.) posted a team-high 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting from the floor (1-6 3PT, 6-9 FT). Jordan Pettway (Bridgeport, Conn.) also contributed a career-high 21 points (8-15 FG, 1-3 3PT, 4-4 FT), five rebounds and four assists, while Mathew Catizone (Woburn, Mass.) and Vinny Clifford (Danvers, Mass.) notched 12 points and 10 points, respectively, off the bench.

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE

  • Despite the loss, Endicott holds a 15-7 advantage in the all-time series.
  • Western New England eclipsed the 100 point barrier for the fourth time this season (4-0).
  • Endicott's final lead of the game came at the 11:34 mark of the first half (21-20).
  • The Gulls four-game winning streak against Western New England came to an end tonight.

Endicott (16-8, 9-6 CCC) hosts Gordon College this Saturday at 3 PM on Senior Day. Western New England (11-13, 8-7 CCC) visits Roger Williams this Saturday at 3 PM.
