Field Hockey Remains at No. 3 in NCAA New England East Regional Poll

NCAA Division III Regional Rankings (Week of November 5, 2014)

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The NCAA has released the third week of regional rankings for Division III field hockey. Sitting at 16-4 overall the Endicott field hockey remains at the #3 slot of six total teams. Voting for the regional rankings is comprised of selected coaches in each region.

The New England East regional rankings consists of two national ranked teams, two Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) teams and three New England Women's and Men's Athletic Conference (NEWMAC) squads.

Holding their spot at #1 for the third straight week is Wellesley (16-2) who is currently #10 in the National Field Hockey Coach's Association (NFHCA) weekly poll. Continuing their second straight week at the #2 spot is Mount Holyoke (15-2) who also sits as #16 in this week's national poll. After spending week one in the #2 slot the Gulls still hold the #3 slot after finishing the regular season at 15-4. The final three spots in the region go to #4 MIT (11-4), #5 University of New England (14-6) and #6 St. Joseph's (Maine) (14-2).

Endicott will face off with #4, University of New England for the third time this season on Saturday, November 8th for the CCC Championship game. In their two meetings in the regular season the pair split in both contests with a 3-2 score. The last time the Blue and Green met the Nor'easters in a title game was back in 2011 where the Gulls hosted UNE and took home the program's first CCC title.
