Comeback Win over UNH Extends Win Streak to Four Games
DURHAM, N.H. – Third period goals from Cameron MacLeod (Hampton Falls, N.H.) and Chris Murphy (Holden, Mass.) helped the Endicott club hockey team to a come-from-behind victory over the University of New Hampshire, their fourth straight victory.

After a scoreless first period, the Gulls took the lead seven minutes into the second on a goal by senior Matthew Zimmerman (South Glastonbury, Conn.). Tad Gold (Vineyard Haven, Mass.) picked up the assist, his first of two on the day.

UNH took a one-goal lead by the end of the period however, on two goals by Tadd Smith before Gold fed MacLeod to tie the game up with thirteen minutes left in the third period. Murphy delivered the game winner just under the five minute mark, as Zimmerman turned provider this time.

A night earlier, Endicott was 6-3 victors over the Bulldogs of Bryant University on the Gulls’ home ice. It was MacLeod scoring first this time, on assists from Gold and sophomore forward Ryan Pratt (Waltham, Mass.) Gold and Pratt each had two assists and a goal against Bryant and each also registered an assist in the victory over UNH.

After Bryant was able to tie the game, Endicott rattled off three straight scores, the first by Pratt being the only goal of the second period. Senior Robert DiNicola (Wolcott, Conn.) then got in on the act, scoring two goals in just over two minutes and giving Endicott a lead they would not relinquish.

Chris Murphy had three assists in the game, with the final one coming on MacLeod’s second goal of the night. Gold capped the scoring with just under a minute left to play.

Senior goalie Mark Airoldi earned the victory in both games for the Gulls, making 30 stops against the Bulldogs after tallying 33 stops in New Hampshire.

The Gulls began their winning streak with an emphatic victory over St. Anselm, 13-4, and then a thrilling 10-8 win over Boston College on Homecoming weekend. They now have a 5-3 record on the year and will next take the ice Saturday night when they host Central Connecticut State University at 7:30 pm. That game and all home games can be seen at Pingree School in South Hamilton, Mass.
