HAMILTON, Mass. - Endicott College rattled off nine unanswered goals, five of which came in the second period, as the Gulls thumped Daniel Webster, 10-3, on Saturday evening in Hamilton, Mass. The win moves Endicott to 2-0 while the Eagles slip to 0-2.

The Gulls' Chris Linnehan (East Longmeadow, Mass.) continued his early season hot hand, as he found the back of the net just 5:08 into the game. Linnehan beat John Newell (Cape Elizabeth, Maine) off assists from Matt Guidotti (Lebanon, N.H.) and Brennan Hill (Falmouth, Mass.) for the quick 1-0 lead. Juniors Nick Colby (Salisbury, Mass.) and Mike Vacca (North Reading, Mass.) also got in on the scoring action in the first, notching back-to-back tallies less than a minute apart to give Endicott a 3-0 lead at the intermission.

The flood gates opened in the second frame as Endicott poured in five goals in the middle stanza. Linnehan notched his second of the evening, this time on the power play, off a feed from Hill. Gregory Szkop (New Britain, Conn.) was given a second assist on the strike. Christopher Delande (Rowley, Mass.), Greg Dorman (Merrimack, N.H.), Hill and Colby also scored in the period.

Daniel Webster would rebound a bit in the third as the Eagles finally solved goalkeeper Matt Murray (Billerica, Mass.) with three goals in the final period. Chris Linnehan finished the night with two goals and an assist, as did junior Nick Colby. Mike Vacca notched a pair of goals while Hill had a goal and a helper in the win.

Murray made 13 saves on 16 shots to notch his second win of the season. Daniel Webster's John Newell took the loss in net for the Eagles, stopping 31 of the 40 shots he faced on Saturday.

Endicott returns to action on Saturday, October 11th as the Gulls host the University of Maine in Hamilton, Mass. Face-off is scheduled for 7:40 p.m.
