Endicott Places 14th at the James Earley Invitational

WESTFIELD, Mass. – The Endicott women's cross country team finished 14th out of 33 teams at the James Earley Invitational at Stanley Park on Saturday afternoon. 

Trinity won the meet with 56 points, while the University of New England was second with 136 points and Worcester State finished in third with 174 points. Rounding out the top-five were Westfield State (181 points) and Smith (194 points). Out of the Commonwealth Coast Conference teams, only the University of New England and Gordon finished ahead of Endicott. 

Endicott's top finisher was Emma Farrington (Essex Junction, Vt.) who placed 18th overall with a time of 19:27.86 on the 5-kilometer course, while Jules Wesley (Endicott, Mass.) was the second Gull to cross the finish line with a time of 20:01.74. Rounding out the top-five were Lauren Tocci (Shamong, N.J.), Haley Marek (Westhampton, Mass.), and Abigail Keim (Williston, Vt.) with times of 20:52.73, 20:58.95, and 21:20.52, respectively.

"The ladies handled the fast start of the race very well. It was a great experience to get going into the final stages before championship season. Emma stepped up and ran a very strong race in an experienced field. Lauren also came through with a season-best time to fill in some spots as the race developed. We're focused on recovery right now to gear up for Friday's race," said Endicott women's cross country head coach Spencer Lange.

Endicott will run at the Saints Invitational in Boston, Mass. at Franklin Park on Friday, October 13.
