Wesley, Farrington Sweep CCC Women’s Cross Country Weekly Awards

CCC WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY WEEKLY RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott women's cross country student-athletes Jules Wesley (Beverly, Mass.) and Emma Farrington (Essex Junction, Vt.) have both earned weekly awards from the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), as announced by the league office yesterday. Wesley was named the CCC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week, while Farrington picked up Rookie of the Week accolades.

In the Gulls' dual meet against Gordon last Saturday, Wesley placed first overall with a time of 19:16 (6:12/mile pace) on the 5-kilometer layout in Wenham, Mass. Wesley also was 11-seconds faster than the second place finisher on the course.

Meanwhile, Farrington ranked third overall in her collegiate debut for Endicott with a time of 19:59.7 (6:26/mile pace). Her time was nearly nine seconds faster than the fourth place finisher, and 25-seconds faster than fifth place.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott travels to Biddeford, Maine on Saturday, September 9 for the University of New England (UNE) Invitational.

ABOUT THE COMMONWEALTH COAST CONFERENCE

The Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), founded in 1984, is an NCAA Division III athletic conference comprised of ten full member and four associate member institutions throughout the New England region. Its membership aims to provide student-athletes with a positive experience in their pursuit of excellence through high academic standards, quality competition, and a meaningful student life. The conference will administer championships in 18 intercollegiate sports starting in the 2017-18 academic year.
