Gordon Edges Women’s Cross Country In Dual Meet

WENHAM, Mass. – The Endicott women's cross country team fell to host Gordon College by a score of 27-28 in a dual meet dubbed "The Battle of the North Shore" on Saturday morning. 

Gulls' junior transfer Jules Wesley (Beverly, Mass.) shined in her debut for the program by covering the 5-kilometer layout in a winning time of 19:16. 

Emma Farrington (Essex Junction, Vt.) followed in third place (19:59.7), while Abigail Keim (Williston, Vt.) was sixth (20:36.5), and Laura Pomeroy (Windham, N.H.) came in eighth (20:57). Lauren Tocci (Shamong, N.J.) rounded out Endicott's top-5 in 10th place (21:06.6). 

Meanwhile, the Gulls' top-7 scorers also featured Haley Marek (Westhampton, Mass.) and Hannah Mason (Deerfield, N.H.), who came in 11th (21:16.1) and 14th (22:02.6), respectively. 

INSIDE THE NUMBERS

  • Gordon took spots 2, 4, 5, 7, 9, 12, and 13 to earn the one point victory in the race.
  • Compared to last year's season opening 5k at Roger Williams, the Gulls had four runners break the 21-minute barrier in contrast to one (Keim, 20:40.73).

Endicott travels to Biddeford, Maine on Saturday, September 9 for the University of New England (UNE) Invitational.
