Donnelly and Mansfield Named to 2014 NEWISA Senior Bowl

BEVERLY, Mass.-  Following stellar careers that saw the Gulls win a CCC title, an ECAC title and make a NCAA second round appearance, Endicott women's soccer members Katie Donnelly (Madison, Conn.) and Clare Mansfield (Stoneham, Mass.) have been named to the 2014 New England Women's Intercollegiate Soccer Association's (NEWISA) Senior Bowl game to be held on Saturday, December 6th.  Donnelly and Mansfield join 25 other NCAA Division III players from the region for the game at Merrimack College with a 2:30 p.m. start time.

The two players join Kayla Corbett '11, Colleen Pepin '12, Caitlin Peters '13, Christine Silva '13 and Sarah Person '14 as NEWISA Senior Bowl honorees since 2010.

Both Donnelly and Mansfield played pivotal roles for the Endicott defense that surrendered just 19 goals in 19 games on the season.  For Donnelly, the goal keeper enjoyed a senior season in which she posted a 10-5-4 record, raising her career record to 40-16-9 and into sole possession of third place all-time in wins in Endicott history.  The senior also posted six shutouts on the year, bringing her career total to 29 which is the new Endicott career record.  For her career, Donnelly was a two-time All-CCC recipient, earning Honorable Mention honors in 2014 and First Team honors in 2013.

For Mansfield, the defender closes her career with 54 games played, 43 starts and 7 points, three of which came this season.  Mansfield's second career goal came against Curry as she scored the eventual game winner on a free kick from 35 yards out in the 4-0 victory.  Most importantly, Mansfield was the anchor of a defensive unit that allowed 1.00 goals/game on the season and 36 total goals over her last 43 starts.  For her defensive prowess, Mansfield received All-CCC First Team honors in 2014, one season after receiving All-CCC Second Team honors in 2013.

Both players have been invited to play in the NEWISA Senior Bowl which will be held at 2:30 p.m. on December 6th at Merrimack College.
