Women's Soccer Receives NSCAA Team Academic Award for 2013-14 Season

NSCAA 2013-14 Team Academic Award

KANSAS CITY, Mo.- The National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) announced their 2013-14 Team Academic Award winners and for the fifth consecutive year the Endicott women's soccer program has received this distinction.  The team, which has now received the award in seven of the last eight seasons, put together a cumulative team GPA of 3.40 throughout the 2013-14 school year.  The program's record over the last five seasons in which they have received this award is an impressive 76-31-9 overall and 44-8-1 in conference play as the team has also claimed two CCC titles, two NCAA Second Round appearances, four CCC finals appearances and an ECAC DIII New England Championship.

The NSCAA Team Academic Award is presented to teams that earn a cumulative GPA of 3.0 for the previous school year, which would be the 2013-14 academic year.  Endicott concluded their 2013 season with a trip to the second round of the NCAA DIII Championships where they fell to host school Middlebury 2-1 in a tight defensive battle.  The Gulls finished the season with a 16-6-2 record overall and the program's ninth Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) title, the fifth in nine years with head coach Jodi Kenyon at the helm.  Throughout the run of four consecutive NSCAA Team Academic Awards, the Gulls have placed 37 student-athletes on the CCC Academic All-Conference teams while seeing three individuals receive CoSIDA Capital One Academic All-District teams, one of which went on to earn Second Team All-American honors.  In 2013, the women's soccer team saw 15 student-athletes earn CCC Academic All-Conference honors.  The 2014 CCC Academic All-Conference teams will be released after the conclusion of the fall semester so this figure will grow.  Endicott finished the 2014 season 10-5-4 with a loss to Wentworth in the CCC quarterfinals.
