Women's Soccer Ranked 9th Regionally; Moves Up Three Spots After 2-1 Week

NCAA DIII WOMEN'S SOCCER REGIONAL RANKINGS- WEEK 2

BEVERLY, Mass.- The NCAA released its second DIII Women's Soccer Regional Rankings on Wednesday, and Endicott has moved up three spots in the weekly poll, receiving a 9th place rank in the New England region.  The Gulls are one of four Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) schools represented in the top 12, joining Roger Williams, the University of New England and Gordon.

Endicott closed its regular season on Tuesday, posting a 10-4-4 (6-2-1 CCC) record through 18 matches to date on the season as they gear up for a postseason run that starts Saturday as the Gulls host Wentworth.  Against teams that are currently ranked regionally, the Gulls posted a 2-1-1 record, defeating #11 Gordon and #12 Babson, tying #7 Roger Williams and losing to #8 UNE.

The Gulls and Leopards square off for the second time in just over a week as the two teams played in Boston, Mass. on the 25th.  Sophomore Shelby McLenithan (Bennington, Vt.) played the hero in the first matchup, scoring twice with under eight minutes to play in regulation to help give Endicott a 2-0 win.  This is the second straight postseason in which the two teams have played, as Endicott needed overtime to dispatch Wentworth 2-1 in 2013 on their way to the CCC title.
