SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- Endicott women's soccer senior Clare Mansfield (Stoneham, Mass.) was named Co-CCC Defensive Player of the Week following a week in which the Endicott defense stifled its opponents. The Gulls played to a 1-1 week, the win being a pivotal conference win over CCC foe Western New England. Endicott, now 7-3-3 (3-1-1) on the season, plays host to UMass Boston Tuesday night at 7:00 p.m.
Mansfield was a dominant presence on the back line as Endicott allowed just one goal in the two matches. In the first match, the Endicott defense contained a Tufts offense that entered the match averaging over three goals per game to just one. The senior then led the unit to a dominant performance over Western New England as the Gulls would shut out the Golden Bears and hold them to just three shots in the match, none of which were on goal.
