Women's Ice Hockey Downs Nichols, 8-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott women's ice hockey team defeated Nichols College, 8-0, on Friday night at Raymond J. Bourque Arena. 

The Gulls scored three goals in the first period, three goals in the second, and two in the third to come away with the victory. 

Endicott received goals from Ashlie Jones (Billerica, Mass.)Emmerson Hayes (Los Angeles, Calif.)Madison Hentosh (Peabody, Mass.)Kaylee Liberty (Arlington Heights, Ill.)Courtney Sullivan (North Yarmouth, Mass.), and Kellie Popkin (Walpole, Mass.)

Highlighting the Gulls on the scoresheet was Hayes and Hentosh who both scored their first collegiate goals in the victory. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Michaela O'Brien (Pembroke, Mass.) earned her second career shutout in tonight's win.
  • Endicott now leads the all-time series over Nichols, 10-2-0.
  • The Endicott penalty kill held strong holding Nichols to 0-4 on the powerplay.
  • Tonight was Popkin's first career multi-goal game.
  • The Gulls' eight goals tonight are the most in a single-game in program history.
  • The previous program record for goals scored in a contest was seven against Castleton on 1/7/2017.

Endicott (3-0-0) and Nichols (0-2-0) will face off again tomorrow with puck drop scheduled for 3 O'Clock at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
