Endicott College Announces Winter Varsity Athletics Return To Play Plan

Endicott College Announces Winter Varsity Athletics Return To Play Plan

BEVERLY, Mass. — After careful consideration, Endicott College has created plans to compete in an abbreviated intercollegiate winter varsity athletics season, beginning March 6-7 against Suffolk University.

With the safety of the Endicott community as our priority, no spectators will be permitted at any Endicott home sporting event that is conducted in 2020-21, as previously stated in the College's Winter Athletics Plan (1/21/2021). Additionally, spectators will not be permitted at any Suffolk Athletics event this week.

Strict adherence to the NCAA's Core Principles to Resocialization in College Sports will also be met for all home and road contests.

Meanwhile, schedules and opponents for all four winter varsity programs (m/w basketball | m/w hockey) will be released on a week-by-week basis.

Endicott Athletics is committed to live-streaming all home contests to allow fans the ability to watch their respective teams online for free. This weekend's schedule, video and live stats links can be found below.

The College's plan, which is subject to change at any time, was established in consultation with campus leadership and follows federal, state, local, NCAA, Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC), and National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA) guidelines.

"Though we see positive signs throughout the country and state with positivity rates, Endicott Athletics will continue to progress conservatively with our return to play process. We fully realize the tremendous toll this pandemic has had on all of our families, as well as the safety and well-being of our students. I also want to offer my gratitude to all our student-athletes and families for their patience, adherence to our safety protocols, and understanding throughout this entire situation. We still have a ways to go, but I'm thrilled that our student-athletes' discipline has positioned them for some much-needed competition," said Dr. Brian A. Wylie, Assistant Vice President, Director of Athletics
