Women's Ice Hockey Battles Past Suffolk, 4-2

BEVERLY Mass. – The Endicott women's ice hockey team opened up its 2020-21 abbreviated season with a 4-2 victory over Suffolk, on Saturday night at Raymond J. Bourque Arena. 

The Gulls opened the scoring just over four minutes into the first period through Kaylee Liberty (Arlington Heights Ill.) before Suffolk scored two straight, the second of which came just two minutes into the second period. 

After Suffolk made it 2-1, Endicott potted three goals in a row, highlighted by Catherine Miles (Northfield, Vt.) who netted her first career goal for the Blue and Green. 

Meanwhile, in net Michaela O'Brien (Pembroke, Mass.) made 17 saves to move to 1-0-0 on the season. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • Ashlie Jones (Billerica, Mass) and Jacy Kuhlman (Severna Park, Md.) were the two other Endicott goalscorers. 
  • Tonight's victory marked Endicott win number 100 for women's ice hockey head coach Andrew McPhee.
  • Tabitha Franceschini (Brick, N.J.) and Kuhlman each had a multi point game for Endicott. 
  • Dating back to last year, The Gulls have now won 14 straight and nine in a row at Raymond J. Bourque Arena.
  • This was the first meeting between Endicott and Suffolk.

WHAT'S NEXT

Endicott (1-0-0) and Suffolk (1-1-0) will complete the second leg of their home and home series tomorrow at 1:30 PM at Louis E. Porrazzo Memorial Skating Rink.
