Gulls Sweep CCC Weekly Awards

CCC SOFTBALL WEEKLY AWARDS RELEASE

BEVERLY, Mass. – Endicott softball student-athletes Adrianna Favreau (Tewksbury, Mass.)Michaela Hamill (Lynn, Mass.), and Meghan Connor (St. Albans, Vt.), swept the Commonwealth Coast Conference (CCC) awards, the league office announced earlier today.  

Favreau earned Player of the Week honors, Hamill secured Pitcher of the Week, and Connor was named Rookie of the Week.

Favreau walloped two home runs and drove in six to lead the Gulls to an 8-0 victory over Western New England in game two of the CCC Championship Series on Saturday (May 8), sealing Endicott's 12th CCC title. She opened the scoring with a two-run shot in the first inning and clobbered a grand slam in the second inning to stake Endicott to all the runs they would need to seal the championship. In four CCC Tournament games, all victories, Favreau batted .500 (7-for-14), with three home runs, 11 RBI, and six runs scored. 

Hamill, tossed seven shutout innings as the Gulls claimed a 4-0 victory over Western New England in the opening game of the CCC Championship Series on Saturday. Hamill scattered two hits, and two walks, while striking out five. The veteran did not allow any runners to advance past first base, set down the final seven batters of the game in order, and retired the side in order three times.

Meanwhile, Connor slugged a two-run home run in the fifth inning to close out the scoring in the Gulls' 4-0 victory over Western New England in game one of the CCC Championship Series on Saturday.  Connor also added a double and came around to score in the second inning of game two. In four CCC Tournament Games, Connor batted .308 (4-for-13) with one home run, three RBI, and four runs scored.

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (19-2) awaits their fate in the NCAA Division III Softball tournament which is set to be announced on May 17.
