Softball Takes Two From Gordon, 3-1 & 4-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott softball team swept crosstown rival Gordon College, 3-1 & 4-0, on Saturday evening.

GAME ONE: Endicott 3, Gordon 1

WP: Michaela Hamill (Lynn, Mass.) – 7 IP, 6 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 1 BB, 5 K
LP: Mara Little (Port Deposit, Md.) – 6 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 0 K
SV: None

Hamill was in command from start to finish as the Gulls' right-hander notched five strikeouts looking, limited leadoff hitters to a 2-for-7 showing, and locked in when it mattered most holding Gordon to a 1-for-13 performance with runners on.

Behind Hamill's stellar performance, Endicott's three-run lead built up over the first two innings of the contest (2 - 1st | 1 – 2nd ) was never truly threatened, minus the fourth (1-out triple) and sixth innings (1-run scored).

Raven Comtois (Milford, N.H.) highlighted the offense with an RBI double to left-center scoring Adrianna Favreau (Tewksbury, Mass.) in the first.

GAME TWO: Endicott 4, Gordon 0

WP: Maria Hanchuk (South Windsor, Conn.) – 7 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 7 K
LP: Kristen Brown (Granite Springs, N.Y.) – 6 IP, 9 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 3 BB, 4 K
SV: None

Hanhuck registered her first career complete-game shutout by only allowing one Fighting Scot to reach scoring position in the entire contest. Hanchuk also compiled three 1-2-3 innings, confined Gordon to a 0-for-7 line with runners on and a 0-for-2 showing in RBI opportunities.

Offensively, all the Gulls needed was Meghan Connor's (St. Albans, Vt.) solo home run in the fourth inning (fourth of the season), but Endicott added three more insurance runs in the sixth to lock up the victory.

Chrissy Marotto (Southington, Conn.) did most of the damage in the sixth via a two-run double to left-center that plated Favreau and Carly Marchitto (Orange, Conn.).
