Softball Sweeps Curry, 8-0 & 17-0

BEVERLY, Mass. – The Endicott softball team swept Curry, 8-0, in game one, and, 17-0, in game two, on Sunday afternoon at the Endicott Softball Complex.

GAME ONE: Endicott, 8 Curry, 0 (5 Innings)

WP: Michaela Hamill (Lynn, Mass.) 5 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 5 SO

LP: Camryn Willis (Foxboro, Mass.) 3 IP, 6 H, 5 R, 3 ER, 1 BB

After a scoreless first and second inning, the Gulls exploded for four runs in the third and four in the fourth to secure the eight-run win. 

Leading Endicott offensively in game one was Adrianna Favreau (Tewksbury, Mass.) who crushed a three-run home run over the center-field fence in the bottom of the fourth inning, which was part of her perfect 3 for 3 game at the plate. 

Meanwhile, both Meghan Connor (St. Albans Vt.) and Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.) earned RBI's via singles in the third inning. 


GAME TWO: Endicott, 17 Curry, 0 (5 Innings) 

WP: Abigail Gilbert (Millbury, Mass.) 3 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 1 BB, 2 SO

LP: Taylor Newcomb (Millville, Mass.) 0.2 IP, 6 H, 11 R, 6 ER, 1 BB

Endicott jumped on Curry for 11 runs in the first inning and never looked back, riding that momentum all the way to the 17-0 victory. 

Highlighting the 11-run onslaught in the first inning for the Gulls, were Raven Comtois (Milford N.H.) who hit a grand slam, and Connor who hit a two-run blast. 

Meanwhile, Connor also hit a grand slam in the bottom of the second inning extending the Gulls' lead to, 17-0. 

BEYOND THE BOX SCORE 

  • 17 runs is a season-high for the Gulls. 
  • Connor now has two multi-home run games this year. 
  • Comtois' grand slam was the first of her career. 
  • Maria Hanchuk (South Windsor, Conn.) started and pitched two innings in game two, giving up no runs and striking out three.

WHAT'S NEXT 

Endicott (10-2, 9-1 CCC) and Curry (5-15, 4-10 CCC) will face off in a pair of non-conference contests on Wednesday, April 21 at 2:30 and 4:30, at Curry.
