Softball Slugs Its Way Past Suffolk, 13-6 & 9-0

EAST BOSTON, Mass. – The Endicott softball team swept Suffolk University, 13-6 & 9-0, on Saturday evening in conference action at East Boston Memorial Park.

As a team, the Gulls combined to hit seven home runs over the course of both games (4-GM1 | 3-GM2) en route to the sweep.

GAME ONE: Endicott 13, Suffolk 6

Gwen Stafford (Shoreham, Vt.) picked up her first collegiate win, in relief, via 2 1/3 innings, five hits, three runs (all earned), two free passes, and a game-high five strikeouts.

Offensively, the Gulls scored in every inning but Katie Watts (Swampscott, Mass.) and Raven Comtois (Milford, N.H.) highlighted the bats as the duo launched two home runs each.

Watts finished game one going 3-for-4 with two runs scored and five RBI out of the leadoff spot, while Comtois went 2-for-4 with two runs scored and three RBI as Endicott's cleanup hitter.

GAME TWO: Endicott 9, Suffolk 0

Michaela Hamill (Lynn, Mass.) spun a complete game two-hit shutout to improve to 2-0 on the young season.

Hamill, who walked and struck out three, respectively, registered a pair of 1-2-3 innings in her outing and only faced four batters over the minimum.

Much like game one, homers were still en vogue in the nightcap as Meghan Connor (St. Albans, Vt.) and Lauren Misiaszek (Londonderry, N.H.) both homered to lead the Gulls.

Connor hit a two-run homer in the fourth before Misiaszek and Connor blasted back-to-back bombs in the fifth (two-run HR/solo HR).
