Final Stats

Dudley, MA - The Endicott College men's soccer team defeated Nichols College, 2-1, on Thursday afternoon in a key Commonwealth Coast Conference match-up. The Bison came into the game tied for the eighth and final qualifying spot for the CCC play-offs. With the win, Endicott bumps up to eighth place. Junior Eric Booth (Belchertown, MA/Belchertown) scored both goals for the Gulls, including the game-winner early in the second half.

Booth struck for his first goal in the 37th minute off a direct free kick. Senior co-captain Jarrod Fowler (Webster, MA) answered for the Bison less than four minutes later with his second goal of the season with the assist going to fellow senior co-captain Brian Roche (Bolton, MA). Fowler was able to put in a deflected ball by Cameron Twiss (Reading, MA/Bishop Fenwick), who initially made the save on Roche's shot.

Despite being out-shoot the Gulls made good on their attempts. Booth scored off a corner kick taken by junior Pranam Lipinski (Adams, MA/Hoosac Valley) at the 52:34 mark.

Booth's two goals led the Gulls to victory but EC also got stellar play from Lipinski, Kyle Schmutte (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug Regional) and Chris Croteau (Groveland, MA/Pentucket). Twiss also played very well in net giving Endicott a chance to win a very important game that held CCC playoff implications.

With three conference games left, the Gulls will look to secure a CCC post-season spot. EC next takes on the University of New England Saturday during Homecoming.
