BEVERLY, MA - It was a rough start to the 2006 season for the Endicott College men's soccer team as they were defeated by Brandeis University on Saturday night. The Gulls fell behind early and would end up falling 3-0 to the Judges to open their season 0-1. Despite solid all around play EC was unable to rebound against a tough Judges defense.

Brandies jumped out to an early lead when Yuval Ezer opened the games scoring in the 24 minute. The Gulls held Brandeis scoreless for the remainder of the first half but the Judges would add two more goals in the second half to propel them to the victory. Endicott matched up well at both the beginning and the end of the game managing nine shots, only three fewer than the Judges, while earning seven corner kicks however the Gulls just could not seem to find the back of the net.

EC got strong play from junior Eric Booth (Belchertown, MA/Belchertown) who tallied three shots all of which were just off target. Booth along with Pranam Lipinski (Adams, MA/Hoosac Valley) and Gabriel Morga (Marlborough, CT/RHAM) provided the Gulls with their best offensive chances. The trio not only showed they can be a threat from inside the penalty area but also from distance as Booth demonstrated with his long range attempts.

Brandeis goalkeeper Taylor Bracken made two saves to earn the shut out while Ben Premo netted both Judges goals in the second half. EC drops to 0-1 to start the season while Brandeis is 1-0. The Gulls will next take on Salem State at home on Tuesday September 5 before heading out on the road to play UMass-Dartmouth on September 7, and Wentworth on September 9.
