BEVERLY, MA - Endicott and Roger Williams played to a scoreless draw after 90 minutes of regulation play before Antoine Bell (Bordeaux, France/Bridgeton Academy) scored in overtime to lift the Hawks over EC, 1-0.

Bell's goal came nine minutes into overtime when he volleyed a cross from Brendan Cavanaugh (Newton, CT/Salisbury School) past EC goalkeeper Cameron Twiss (Reading, MA/Bishop Fenwick) giving Roger Williams the win.

The Gulls and Hawks played to a scoreless tie after the first half of play with EC out shooting Roger Williams six to four. Endicott looked very strong in the first half getting scoring chances from Kyle Schmutte (Wilbraham, MA/Minnechaug Reg.) and Pirapong Sirikietsoong (Bankok, Thailand).

The Gulls best scoring opportunity came ten minutes into the contest when Schmutte settled a loose ball and rifled a shot on net. RWU goalkeeper Kevin Deegan (Seymour, CT/Seymour) made a diving save to turn away the shoot and keep the game scoreless.

Endicott was helped in a big way in the first half, and the entire game, by the play of the defense, led by Eric Booth (Belchertown,MA/Belchertown), Chris Croteau (Groveland, MA/Pentucket) and DJ Picariello (Boxford, MA/Worcester Academy). The Gulls defense broke up a number of attacking runs and cross attempts keeping the Hawks in check.

In the second half Roger Williams came out on the attack but once again were stifled by EC's back line. Booth continued his strong play, anchoring the defense as well as pushing up and creating some offensive chances for EC. Sirikietsoong was also a playmaker for the Gulls as he controlled EC's ball movement from the middle of the field. Not to be outdone however was the Hawks defense, who rose to the challenge holding the Gulls scoreless for 90-plus minutes of play.

Twiss made eight saves in the loss, while Deegan turned away four shots to earn the shutout. The Gulls fall to 0-6 (0-3 CCC) on the season and will travel to Plymouth, NH to take on Plymouth State on Wednesday. Roger Williams improves to 2-3-1 (2-1 CCC) on the year and will head to Nichols College for their next game.
