Men's Soccer Third in Preseason Poll

Aug. 28, 2006

BEVERLY, MA - The Endicott College men's soccer team will begin the 2006 season as the third ranked team in the Commonwealth Coast Conference. The Gulls tallied 118 points in the CCC preseason poll, placing them third behind Roger Williams and Gordon College.

The Gulls finished the 2005 season with a 9-9-1 record falling just shy of the CCC championship game. EC beat Colby-Sawyer in the quarterfinals before falling to Gordon in overtime in the semifinal game.

Roger Williams, the defending CCC champions, tallied 141 points and nine first place votes while Gordon had 134 points and three first place votes. The Gulls finished 2005 in the same way they will begin 2006 as the third ranked team in the Conference. The poll was released Monday and EC kicks off its season Saturday evening when they host the Brandeis University Judges.
