PLYMOUTH, NH - Plymouth State University overcame an early 1-0 deficit and then put the game away with three goals in the final six minutes of the second half Wednesday evening, as the Panthers downed Endicott College, 6-2, in non-conference men's soccer action at Panther Field.

The upset-minded Gulls took the early lead and then hung around despite being out-shot. Endicott scored its second goal with just over 10 minutes remaining to make it a 3-2 game before the Panthers ran away with it in the final 10 minutes.

Sophomore Semir Mehmedovic (Franklin, N.H.) led the Panther scoring with three goals, marking his second career hat trick. Seniors Felix Rosen (Stockholm, Sweden) and Dustin Moya (Thornton, Colo.) and freshman Joakim Kindberg (Stockholm, Sweden) also collected goals for the winners, and sophomore Pat Connolly (Newton, N.H.) recorded an assist. Sophomore Pirapong Sirikietsoong (Bangkok, Thailand) scored the first goal of the match in the 15th minute to put the visitors on the board. Mehmedovic knocked in his first of the game 11 minutes later and it remained 1-1 through the end of the first half.

Rosen scored on a penalty kick in the 65th minutes to give PSU its first lead of the evening, and Mehmedovic's second goal at 72:19 put the Panthers up 3-1.

The Gulls would not go quietly, as senior Brian Thopsey (Farmington, CT/Farmington) knocked one in with a little more than 10 minutes on the clock. PSU tightened things up, and Moya, Mehmedovic and Kindberg all found the net in the final 10 minutes.

PSU, which finished with a 27-9 advantage in shots, improves to 4-1-1 overall, while Endicott remains winless at 0-7. After five straight home games, PSU plays its next two on the road, beginning Saturday with a Little East Conference match-up at Eastern Connecticut. Endicott returns to the Granite State on Saturday to face Colby-Sawyer in New London, N.H.
