Endicott Sweeps Weekly Awards Following CCC Title

SPRINGFIELD, Mass.- After winning the eighth conference title in program history, the Endicott men's lacrosse team saw three players sweep the weekly conference awards as well as Kyle Weber (West Hartford, Conn.), Cameron Bell (Falmouth, Maine) and Nicholas D'Elia (Stanford, Conn.) were recognized for their play.  Endicott, now 15-3 on the season, has advanced to the NCAA DIII Men's Lacrosse Tournament where they play host to Colorado College in the first round on Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.

Weber, a senior attacker, was named CCC Offensive Player of the Week following his nine goals and one assist in two games.  In the team's 26-9 CCC Semifinal win over cross-town rival Gordon, Weber led the charge with five goals and one assist.  His five goals tied for the team lead as did his six total points while he also collected five ground balls in the win.  In the CCC Championship game against Western New England, Weber again led the offense, this time with four goals on seven shots while also contributing three ground balls and one caused turnover as the Gulls claimed a 13-12 win.  This is Weber's first Offensive Player of the Week honor as the senior added to his All-CCC Second Team honor that was released earlier in the week.

Bell, the CCC Defensive Player of the Year and All-CCC First Team member, capped his championship run by adding CCC Defensive Player of the Week, the third time this season that he has received the honor.  Bell started off the week with a seven save and three ground ball game in the team's win over the Fighting Scots before putting forth a 17 save and two ground ball performance against WNE in the CCC Championship.  His 17 saves were his second best total of the season and the highest in a winning effort for the junior goalie.

Rounding out the weekly awards was freshman Nicholas D'Elia who was named CCC Rookie of the Week.  D'Elia had seven ground balls against Gordon, just one shy of his season high, and finished with eight for the week.  This is the first time that D'Elia has received the Rookie of the Week distinction.
